Golf news – 15 April, 2021

As the season gets going, you’ll have noticed the new green tees on the 1562 course.

These are the forward-most tees on the course and provide an opportunity for anyone looking to enjoy the 1562 course with a more comfortable round.

The green tees are of course less challenging from the tee than the yellow and white tees but just as enjoyable.

Par Course rating Slope rating
Ladies 73 73.2 123
Gents 69 67.6 119

Yes, the 1562 course is always a great challenge, and is one of the best courses in Angus, but these new tees will allow you to customise your round and set the level of challenge that you’re looking for.

Hole in one

We have the sixth hole in one this year.

Scott Donnelly was the playing in the first RMMGC competition of the year on 3 April with Peter Wood, Murray Smith and Allan Reoch.

Reaching the 3rd on the 1562 he pulled his gap wedge from his bag and duly holed his tee-shot.

This was Scott’s first ever hole in one and a fantastic achievement on one of the 1562 courses signature holes.

Like the other five holes in one we have had, the bar has been closed with the current restrictions. However golfers have long memories…
