In one

And they just keep coming…

We’ve had the fifth hole in one of the year already, and the third at the 3rd on the 1562.

On 2 March Alastair Donald holed his 9 iron at the third on the 1562 course while playing with Jeff King.

This was a “slam dunk” straight in, no bounce. This was his first hole in one.

Allan Reoch on the Broomfield

And then, three days later on Friday 5 March, Allan Reoch aced it on the Broomfield.

Playing with his wife Anne on the Broomfield course, Allan stood on the 3rd tee already having started birdie, birdie……he then holed his 9 iron to go (-4) after only three holes, what a start…..

This was Alan’s fourth hole in one.

Remarkably we have now had five holes in one this year already and they have all been at the third hole on our courses.

Chipping tips

For those of us not holing from our tee shot, our head professional Jason Boyd has some top tips on chipping in this video.

Stroke index

Here are details of the 1562 Course handicap table

In line with the new World Handicap System, we now have new tee markers so that members can return cards from a variety of tee positions.

The green tees (replacing the red tees) are now measured for ladies and gentlemen to play.  The white and yellows now allow ladies to put cards in as they are also now measured for both ladies and gentlemen.

We are introducing a separate stroke index on the Broomfield Course for the ladies and will be able to confirm more next week ahead of the start of the season.

Sawgrass

It was a fantastic Players Championship at Sawgrass which has just finished.

With agony again for Lee Westwood, it was a great victory for Justin Thomas and just wasn’t to be for De Chambeau.

But what of Rory? You can watch the final round highlights here.

Rules refresher

And finally, if you want to watch the Ashley Weller rules refresher held onlin earlier this month, you can see it here.
