Get into the Winter Swing
Make the most of winter golf at Montrose Golf Links with our new Winter Swing events.
This series of five competitive events for members is a new addition to the course calendar and is being run entirely free of charge.
The events are being held from the end of November right through to March 2021, with two invitational events, so you can bring along a guest.
The first event is on Sunday, and you can find out more here
World Handicap System
It has been many years since the last changes were made to the handicap system and it is fair to say we are learning more every day.
Our professional Jason Boyd is on hand for any questions or queries you may have.
We also have new boards on display in the pro shop window, which detail how your new Handicap Index gives you a course handicap.
If you need any advice, please just call in and ask.
Ladies Get into Golf
A real success story in 2020 despite Covid was our ladies programme, a series of interactive sessions which covered all aspects of golf.
The ladies have all become good friends and have played lots of golf since the sessions were introduced.
The sessions will begin in February in lots of time for the new season. All equipment can be supplied.
Don’t just take our word for it though, here are the thoughts of two of the ladies involved this year.
“My husband has golfed all his life but, to be honest, I could never see the attraction. Then he persuaded me to join the Get Into Golf Programme. Fresh air, exercise, new friends – I’m well and truly hooked!”
“When I heard about the programme, I was apprehensive because I was a complete beginner and didn’t know anyone from Montrose and was worried it would be cliquey. I decided to give it a go and couldn’t have been more wrong. Jason instantly put me at ease and it turned out none of the ladies knew each other. I have progressed so much it’s incredible and made some lovely friends along the way.”

For the 2021 season, we are introducing a new junior programme.
Perhaps we will find the next Catriona Matthew or Rory McIlroy, but more importantly, it will offer youngsters a pathway to golf and the chance to learn through play.
More details to follow soon.
