Well what a final day we had in store today. The sun beating down on the players from the off with a blustery wind from the west a stark difference from day 2. The score draw meant the final 2 groups contained the top 3 scratch players for the week and the top 3 nett players who all went out together. In the scratch section it quickly became Coull vs Coull with Logue falling back with some early mistakes relatively level at the turn then it was time for the young gun to shine in Finn Coull. A scintillating back nine of 32 containing a holed 50 yard pitch or eagle on 13 then a chip in birdie on 17 to seal the deal this caps a fantastic year for Finn.
In the nett section the top 6 players were covered by only 4 shots from the first two days play. It was the over night leader Ken Dickson who shone in the glorious Montrose sunshine opening up with a fantastic front nine of 36 for 22 stable ford points he was always going to be hard to catch at the top of the leaderboard after that front nine. Not to be out done Calvin Hutchison opened up his front nine with 22 points to be at that point only 1 point back but he just couldn’t get the extra 2 point needed to pip Ken to the title finishing as a valiant runner up.
