Having announced our new season ticket categories and prices, we are pleased to unveil some new incentives for our 2021 members.
If an existing member refers a friend to Montrose Golf Links, and they mention them when they buy their ticket for the 1562 course, that member gets £50 off their 2022 season ticket price.
Meanwhile, subscription notices are being sent out to current members around now, and we are offering two free guest 2021 tickets to every member that pays their renewal fee by the end of February.
We hope to continue to provide tempting incentives so there’s always something in it for our members to pay up on this earlier date.
A Montrose Golf Links ticket includes reciprocal golf at both Downfield and Ladybank golf clubs, with Leven Links and Newmachar added attractions for the 2021 season.
There is also half price concessions at both Carnoustie Country golf courses and courses in the East Coast Concession Scheme (including Arbroath, Brechin, Forfar, Kirriemuir, Portlethen and Stonehaven).
We are currently working on reciprocal golf at two other courses and we will bring you news on that as soon as we can.
Further initiatives are aimed at encouraging families and young people to take up golf.
At Scottish golf clubs in general, only 6% of current members are younger than 35, only 13.35% are women, while 58.5% are 55 and older. As golf clubs continue to lose memberships through an ageing population, the game appreciates there is not a strong enough pipeline of younger members.
We have structured our categories to address this with an emphasis on attracting under-25s to take up the game
A new initiative to encourage young people to try the sport is a free season ticket for under-18s if their parent or grandparent is a season ticket holder. A five percent discount is also on offer to couples buying their season tickets together.
