Visitor Information

ARRIVAL – When you arrive at Montrose Golf Links you should report to the Professional Shop where the details of other services you require or have requested will be confirmed. You will also be able to pay any green fees prior to the start of round at the Professional Shop.
CANCELLATION – All payments made will be applied to bookings as they are taken. In the event you have to cancel your golf booking and this is done 14 days prior to play, Montrose Golf Links will be happy to move your booking to another date (this date must be within the same season and is transferable to another party) or refund your payment in part or whole, i.e., should you wish some of your tee times to be allocated to another date, we would reimburse the remainder. Cancellation of your booking less than 14 days before your visit will usually result in loss of payment. Montrose Golf Links will make exceptions to this rule at its discretion. The Booking is completely transferable. Therefore, should you subsequently be unable to play, you can offer the tee time to someone else such as a family member or friend.
BAD WEATHER – If courses become unplayable, they may be closed on the authority of the Head Greenkeeper or the senior member of Green Staff on duty. If visiting golfers decide to abandon their round, rather than wait for play to restart, refunds will not apply. If play does not resume, visitors will be offered the chance to reschedule their game. If they cannot reschedule, a full refund will be offered. Visitors who have not started their round will be made aware of any course closure. Reasonable endeavours will be made to reschedule, either later that day or the following day, depending on availability, but those who cannot reschedule will be given a refund.
DRESS – Smart, casual attire is acceptable as a form of dress both within the clubhouse and on the courses. Blue denim jeans, sports shorts, collarless shirts, football shirts and tracksuit/jogging bottoms are not considered an appropriate form of dress.

FACILITIES – Visiting golfers may use the facilities of the Montrose Caledonia or the Royal Montrose Mercantile Golf Club on the date/s of play.

CATERING – If your party requires any catering this will be arranged in one of our two clubs. All catering requirements should be confirmed to us within 48 hours of your visit. If catering is not reserved in advance, Montrose Golf Links cannot guarantee that food will be available.

THE TEE – To ensure the smooth running of the courses the tee-times allocated to the party must be adhered to. All play is from the White, Yellow or Green Tees.

ETIQUETTE – To ensure the enjoyment of all golfers, please avoid slow play. If one group holds up a following group or falls one hole behind (even if they are of the same party) the offending group must give way to the group behind. Montrose Golf Links work hard to ensure the standard of the courses is of the highest level and require the help and support of all local and visiting golfers by asking that bunkers be raked, divots replaced and pitch marks on greens repaired.
